I figured that out before the 7th book came out. It was easy. Petunia wouldn’t have met James till at least after Lily’s 6th year, because they weren’t together until at least then. And Lily would have known about Azkaban way before then just from being at Hogwarts. So it had to be someone else. That combined with Dumbledore begging Snape to kill him, Snape never mentioning Lily to Harry, and Snape’s worst memory being when he called Lily a mudblood made it seem pretty likely there was something between him and Lily. I also called Harry being a horcrux and letting Voldemort kill him but it not succeeding so the 7th book wasn’t all too surprising…
